COVID-19 Business Relief Fund

Fairmount CDC has been working hard to support our local businesses who are suffering from the immediate effects of COVID-19. Effective Monday, March 16th, Mayor Jim Kenney has asked all non-essential Philadelphia businesses to close, and all restaurants to move to call-in, pickup service only. We have been collecting data on how businesses are being impacted, we're sharing it with relevant parties, elected officals and city offices as a matter of informing important upcoming financial relief policy.

With that in mind, Fairmount CDC has also put together a COVID-19 Business Relief Fund. We are asking neighbors and people who support local business to contribute any amount possible; there is nothing too big or too small, and it is fully tax deductible.

Some examples of what your contribution might help cover:

  • Utility bills or rent
  • Tips for hourly staff
  • Cover other fixed costs

As money comes in, we will allocate it once a week to businesses based on the requests we have and reviewed by a committee whose job is to ensure equitable funding across those requests. We are hoping that, with enough support, we will be able to alleviate some of the burden for as many business owners as possible. We will send out a weekly email letting you know how your contribution has helped!

When you contribute, you will be added to an email list to receive updates on which businesses you supported through your contributions.
